Video Game New Super Mario Bros. Wii (Wii) (2009)

[Why I hardly play games nowadays:]
So I have many games for the Wii, but every time I open my CD folder, I just flip through and close the thing. Why? If I've already finished a game, then I really should play a game I haven't finished or haven't started. But if I haven't finished a game, it'll have been such a long time that I wouldn't want to deal with trying to figure out the controls again or figure out where I left off. Perhaps storyline is critical as well. And if I haven't started a game, then I wouldn't want to start, or else it would end up in the situation of a game I have started, but haven't finished.

To think, I almost did the same thing to my newly bought New Super Mario Bros. Wii; which came in the mail about three or four days ago.

[Prior to gameplay:]
Lazily I got batteries to put in my Wiimote and popped in the disc. I was notified that I would have to update the Wii. This almost stopped me from wanting to play, but lazily I accepted the update and waited. Something actually went wrong and I had to do the update again.

[First impressions:]
But when the game started and I was in control of Mario, I'm glad I popped the game in, even if only for a couple of levels. I love the propeller suit. The ice flower is okay. I stopped playing after completing the first castle. The game has the feel of New Super Mario Bros. on the DS, but with new level designs and a couple of Wii controls added in.

[Reflection on game playing habits:]
Gone are the days of playing for hours. There just isn't time... But I think I'll be able to manage a somewhat more frequent visit to the Wii. I used to be a game completion nut. But now I can hardly even start a game. But maybe I'll find a good compromise.
