Movie Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart (2013)

20170724:
I decided to watch this animation today and mainly enjoyed it for its music, because I was less fond of the animation - at least at the start of the film.

Jack (Mathias Malzieu / en: Orlando Seale)

As the film progressed, it achieved a stronger sense of cohesion and built itself into something wonderful.

Overall, a movie that's rough around the edges isn't worthy of a strong recommendation to all, but I would note that any fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas should consider watching Jack and the Cuckoo-Clock Heart.

Miss Acacia (Olivia Ruiz / en: Samantha Barks)

Netflix determined the movie for me as a 92% match. I decided to give the movie neither a thumbs up nor a thumbs down.

Instant Comments:
The lip movement isn't well animated.

Left to right: Jack, Madeleine (Marie Vincent and Emily Loizeau / en: Barbara Scaff), Luna (Rossy de Palma / en: Jessie Buckley), Arthur (Arthur H. / en: Richard Ridings), and Anna (Babet / en: Sophia Ellis)

Some of the initial music clashes with the ambiance of the movie.
I didn't realize this movie would be a musical.
This duet between Jack and the girl was beautiful.
Oh my gosh. I wonder how this movie will end.
George Melies. (director of A Trip to the Moon)

Joe (Grand Corps Malade / en: Harry Sadeghi)

Backdrop references A Trip to the Moon.
I think the music that plays is the same music as A Trip to the Moon.
Ah, the windmills from earlier reminded me of Don Quixote and here George Melies references Don Quixote.
Holy crap. (That ending.)

Melies (Jean Rochefort / en: Stephane Cornicard) and Jack
