Unfortunately, I have a bunch of these old Beer Camp beers which are well beyond their intended drinking date and will taste vastly different.

In any case, upon drinking this Yonder Bock, I was reminded of the taste of the sugars in the Dogfish Head 180 Minute IPA I had after it had aged. The one difference was that this aged beer didn't taste nearly as strong. In particular, the Yonder Bock was drinkable whereas the 180 Minute was barely sippable.

As a final note, I remarked that I didn't taste any citrus notes, instead I only tasted a truckload of complex sugars. 20160515 1:56AM PT

Yonder Bock Tropical Maibock
Brewed in collaboration with Cigar City Brewing, LLC
Tampa, FL

Tampa is a long way from our home base in Chico, but the guys down yonder in Florida sure can brew a great beer. Our friends at Cigar City find inspiration in the Cuban roots of their hometown, and that Latin-inspired flair is evident in Yonder Bock. This tropical take on the Maibock adds a Latin island flair to this traditional German style beer.

Enamored with the Latin roots of their Tampa home, Cigar City always tries to channel a bit of local history into their beers, e.g. the Humidor Series whose beers age on Spanish cedar as an homage to Tampa’s cigar making roots. Only five years old, this brewery deserves the fast praise that’s come its way.

Tasting Notes
Yonder Bock is a summery twist on the robust blonde bock. Its silky, semisweet malt body is bolstered by a blend of new and experimental hops that impart bright, fruity hop aromas of guava, mango and passion fruit.
