20101221:
Though I haven't watched the show, since watching this movie a year and a half ago, I've seen several other Star Trek movies and have learned more about the Star Trek universe. It certainly makes the movie more enjoyable.

I'm ambiguous on the Uhura/Spock relationship.

New old crew ranked from best to worst: Bones, then Spock, then Sulu, then Chekov, then Scotty, then Kirk, then Uhura.

Instant Comments:
Was him hitting his head on the low clearance a reference?
The actor who plays Leonard "Bones" McCoy really fits the character.
I love how the sound mutes at certain parts in the movie.
One of my favorite parts in the movie: John Cho's fight scene.
The ice planet with the one creature in the last movie I watched... Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991).
Haha, "Are you out of your Vulcan mind?"

[20111021]
Hahahaha. One of the better HISHE episodes.

20120122:
This is the first movie I've seen on Netflix that has the option for a different audio track (French). But I watched it in English with English subtitles. Well, I had it on in the background while blogging.

Instant Comments:
Muahaha: "Live and long and prosper."
I don't think I ever realized how important the conversation in the bar was (between James and the Captain)
Haha, I don't need a doctor, I am a doctor.
All I got left is my bones.
Oh Eric Bana is Captain Nero. I think I made the facial recognition for the first time at around 28 mins.
I never realized the U.S.S. Enterprise is so huge.
Sulu and Chekov.
I never thought about how the ships must have some sort of gravity simulator. Wonder how such technology would work.
Hahaha, "fencing."
Poor redshirt.
Haha I love Chekov. I can do that. I can do that.
Where would the other people be on the transporter if there were more than six people? [answered at 1h49, where two people are on one section of the device]
Damn it man I'm a doctor not a physicists.
Oh, I forgot that he was ejected from the ship.
Lol, what a scary creature. But why would it attack that other creature and not like stop and eat it?
It seems that it would make more sense that instead of Spock and the Romulans going back in time, they traveled to an alternate reality.
Montgomery Scott.
Do they still have sandwiches there?
I feel like that's why introducing changes isn't hazardous.
I like this ship! This is exciting.
Hehe, at 1h38. Nyota.
So her first name's Nyota? I have no comment on the matter. Hahaha.
I'm giving her all she's got captain.
Hahahaha. "I got your gun."

  1. Dude, Kirk is way better than most of those characters and Uhura is supposed to be hot. I'm fine with Bones and Spock up there though.

  2. I must have had the original cast in mind when making that rank. I liked how the new Bones and Spock resembled the old ones, but still had something new. On the other hand, the new Kirk and Scotty didn't have the same feel as the old ones.

It's possible I underrated Kirk. As for Uhura, she can keep being hot, but she needs more character.
