Just like in West Side Story, you have foreigners who don't properly sound foreign. Overlooking this fact, then you get as great a musical as West Side Story. Well, I liked West Side Story a little more.

It became a film in 1946 starring Irene Dunne and Rex Harrison. pg 2: Lawrence turned the film into a musical with Rodgers and Hammerstein doing the music. 1951 starring Gertrude Lawrence and Yul Brynner. pg 3: Adaptation to screen involved Jerome Robbins and Ernest Lehman. pg 4: $750,000 creating forty different sets. pg 5 (last): six Academy Awards - Best Actor (Yul Brynner), Best Art Direction (Color), Best Set Decoration (Color), Best Costume Design (Color), Best Sound Recording and Best Scoring of a Musical Picture.
